At Saw & Stitch, we believe the journey your piece takes from our workbench to your home is just as important as the fabrication process itself. Because our work spans delicate handcrafted textile plushies to substantial solid timber furniture collections, our logistics model is meticulously tiered to guarantee the safety, security, and pristine arrival of your investment.

  • 1. The Artisan Lead Time (Made-to-Order Fulfillment)

    Before an item can enter transit, it must clear our production floor.

    • Rotating Collections & Plush Goods: In-stock items are typically processed, securely packaged, and dispatched within 2 to 3 business days.
    • Made-to-Order & Custom Timber Commissions: Because our furniture is built using slow-craft artisan methods, these items are subject to specific workshop fabrication timelines. Estimated production windows will be communicated directly upon project confirmation. Stated lead times are professional projections and are non-binding; we do not compromise on structural curing or finishing times for accelerated transit.
  • 2. Standard Parcel Delivery (via The Courier Guy)

    For our smaller handcrafted collections, home accessories, and soft goods, we partner with The Courier Guy to provide reliable nationwide door-to-door delivery across South Africa.

    • Transit Timelines: Once dispatched from our Sandton studio, regional transit (Gauteng) typically takes 1 to 2 business days. National delivery to major hubs (Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, etc.) takes 2 to 4 business days. Outlying or rural areas may require an additional 1 to 2 business days.
    • Tracking Your Shipment: The moment your package is logged into the carrier network, an automated dispatch notification containing your unique tracking number and active waybill link will be sent to your registered email address.
  • 3. Large Furniture & Heavy Cargo Logistics

    Heavy solid timber tables, cabinetry, and structural installations require specialised handling that standard courier conveyor systems cannot safely accommodate.

    • Gauteng Regional Studio Delivery: To protect your piece, large furniture orders destined for Sandton and the broader Johannesburg/Pretoria metropolitan areas are personally transported and delivered directly by us. This ensures your piece is minded by the hands that built it right up to your threshold.
    • National Heavy Freight: For large furniture orders outside of Gauteng, we coordinate custom freight via specialized long-haul furniture movers. These shipments are quoted independently based on volumetric weight and final destination access parameters.
    • Studio Collection: Clients are welcome to arrange personal collection of their finished pieces directly from our Sandton premises by prior workshop appointment.
  • 4. Shipping Rates & Tiered Pricing

    Fulfillment rates are calculated at checkout based on the structural footprint and weight class of your order:

    • Standard National Parcels (Small Goods/Plush): Fixed flat-rate shipping applies at checkout.
    • Bespoke & Furniture Freight: Large-format pieces require calculated handling. For regional studio delivery, a fixed workshop transport fee is applied. For national destinations outside Gauteng, a bespoke shipping invoice will be generated and issued post-purchase based on live carrier rates.
  • 5. Transfer of Risk & Crucial Inspection Protocol

    • Risk Hand-off: In alignment with our Terms of Service, legal risk of loss, damage, or degradation transfers directly to the buyer the moment a parcel is successfully collected by our courier partners or personally signed out from our Sandton workshop.
    • Mandatory Delivery Inspection: Solid timber and artisan textile goods must be carefully inspected immediately upon arrival.
    • Damaged Consignments: In the highly unlikely event that your item arrives with transit damage, you must note the physical damage directly on the carrier’s waybill/digital terminal before signing for receipt. Take clear, high-resolution photographs and videos of both the exterior packaging faults and the internal product damage, and email us within 24 hours so we can actively log a claim with the delivery team.
